The following events will recognize the 10-year anniversary of the 2008 flood:
When: Friday, June 8, to Sunday, June 10
Where: NewBoCo, 415 12th Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids
What: The New Bohemian Innovation Collaborative hosts a three-day event for teams to create, test and validate disaster recovery ideas. Tickets cost $99. Register at https://newbo.co/events/flood-of-ideas.
When: 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday, June 11
Where: Bus departure from City Hall parking lot, 1512 Seventh St., Coralville
What: Coralville officials host tours of flood protection improvements. Tours last an hour. Seating is limited. Call 319-248-1700 or email info@coralville.org to RSVP. Include your name, number of people in your group and tour time choice.
Cedar Rapids Police and Fire Department Tours
When: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, June 12
Where: Cedar Rapids Police Station, 505 First St. SW, Cedar Rapids; Central Fire Station, 713 First Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids
What: The public can tour two public safety buildings, one damaged during and restored after the flood, and one built after the flood.
When: 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 13
Where: Lundy Pavilion, Mercy Medical Center, 701 10th St. SE, Cedar Rapids
What: A reflection of the 2008 flood and its effect on Mercy Medical Center.
Northwest Gateway and West Side Rising Memorial Ribbon Cutting
When: 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 13
Where: Southwest corner of O Avenue NW and Sixth Street NW, Cedar Rapids
What: The opening of a new memorial recognizing the recovery of the Cedar Rapids' northwest neighborhoods.
10 Year Reflections of the Flood and History of the Harbor
When: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 13
Where: Ellis Park Harbor, 2550 Ellis Blvd. NW, Cedar Rapids
What: Learn the history of the Ellis Harbor and the effect of the 2008 flood on the harbor and its boathouses. Admission is free.
When: Tour from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; social hour from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Saturday, June 16
Where: Meet at the Mott Lofts, 42 Seventh Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. for information. Take the tour at your own pace
What: Save CR Heritage hosts a free tour of historical buildings and sites in Cedar Rapids that recovered after the flood.
When: Flood control system tours at 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.; water pollution control facility and flood wall tour at 11 a.m.; historic preservation tour at 3 p.m. All tours on Monday, June 18

Moving Forward: Pathways to Building Community Resilience Symposium
When: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, June 19
Where: DoubleTree Convention Complex, 350 First Ave. NE, Taft Room A, Cedar Rapids
What: A discussion between experts, practitioners, stakeholders and the public to share information about building resilience to floods and other natural disasters.
Art Exhibition: 'Morphing Murals of the Drawing Legion'
When: Thursday, June 7 to July 29 (and possibly into August). Open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Wednesday and Friday through Saturday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday; noon to 4 p.m. Sunday
Where: CSPS Hall, Main Gallery, second floor, 1103 Third St. SE, Cedar Rapids
What: Mel Andringa will host an exhibition about how the 2008 flood continues to inform his creative thinking. Admission is free.
Art Exhibition: 'Lost and Found, 2x2xU: My River, 2008'
When: Thursday, June 7, through Saturday, June 16, during building hours
Where: Cherry Building, first floor gallery, 329 10th Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids
What: An exhibition of 2x2xU public art panels, some restored and some still damaged, recovered after the flood. Admission is free.
