43rd annual Czech Days in Protivin is Aug. 20-22

Holy Trinity Parish of Protivin, Iowa, will be hosting its 43rd Annual Czech Days Celebration the weekend of Aug. 20-22.

The evening of Aug. 20 kicks off with softball and volleyball tournaments that will run throughout the weekend, along with a fireman's water ball fight.

On Aug. 21, there will be polka bands throughout the weekend (free admission to all bands), a bean bag tournament, an antique tractor show and a car show. There also will be kids' inflatables, bingo and a cakewalk followed by a Czech Choir Mass at 5:30 p.m.

On Aug. 22, there will be a Polka Mass at 10:30 a.m. and a kids' pedal tractor pull at noon, followed by more music.

There will be plenty of good homemade food, including with the traditional Czech rolickys and kolaches.
