Where does Iowa fit in Saturday's spring football game crowd-counts?
Mike Hlas Apr. 18, 2010 11:38 am
Had Iowa filled every seat in Kinnick Stadium Saturday, it still would have had a smaller crowd for its final spring practice than Alabama and Nebraska had the same day for their spring games.
Alabama had 91,312 fans for its Crimson-White game. Nebraska drew 77,936 for its Red-White game.
Maybe it's the colors.
Auburn pulled in 63,217 for its spring game. Add Alabama-Birmingham's 2,500, and every single citizen of Alabama was at a college spring game on Saturday. Or else it just seemed like it.
Iowa's gathering was 23,502. I think that was a totally made-up number, since there were no turnstiles or tickets. But the number looked accurate.
