OKLAHOMA CITY -- These are what I like to call "snippets."
They are videos that are very brief, but they're fun for the whole family.
I watched most of UNLV's 40-minute practice in the Ford Center on Wednesday. Teams don't show a thing in these sessions. The real practices are done elsewhere earlier in the day. This is just to get acclimated to the arena. On Thursday, these Runnin' Rebels will play Northern Iowa.
I liked the old Rebels better, with Jerry Tarkaninan and Showtime. These guys seemed to focus on fundamentals during their 40 minutes.
Lon Kruger is a terrific coach, but he's no Tark. Hmmm, Tark the Shark. Hey Gary Barta ... nah.
