VIDEOS: Iowa basketball recruit Josh Oglesby and Cedar Rapids Washington are going to the state tournament

CEDAR RAPIDS -- Josh Oglesby had four points in the first half. Only four. It didn't matter, since his Cedar Rapids Washington Warriors opened a 27-9 halftime lead over Dubuque Hempstead in their state Class 4A substate final at the U.S. Cellular Center Tuesday night.
But you knew the University of Iowa recruit would get his, and the senior didn't disappoint. With 14 points and three slick assists, he was directly involved in 20 of Washington's 22 third-quarter points in Wash's 56-31 rout.
Oglesby finished with a game-high 22 points. Teammate Wes Washpun, headed to a Division I program somewhere, had 18 including two of a breakaway dunk that was the highlight of the night.
Oglesby can shoot, but you probably knew that. His passing was the most eye-opening part of his game this night. The second of the three following videos shows it, though my angle of the pass' recipient is blocked. Call it bad positioning on the part of an amateur videographer.
Next up for Washington: A first-round state-tourney matchup against Linn-Mar, which pasted North Scott in the opener of Tuesday's doubleheader at the Cell Center, 50-25. Linn-Mar handled Wash twice in their regular-season meetings. Linn-Mar is 23-0, Washington 17-8. Linn-Mar is the odds-on pick to win the whole deal next week in Des Moines. At least I think so. But I guess I'm just partial to 23-0 teams.
