Iowa offensive coordinator Ken O'Keefe had to make a few adjustments this year.
He lost his quarterback, the running back depth chart went completely haywire and the Hawkeyes' offensive line went long stretches without its top two players (Bryan Bulaga and Dace Richardson).
But the offense kept its head above water.
Iowa's offensive coordinator agrees that Georgia Tech has given up big plays, but the way Tech's offense hums, it doesn't leave an offense a lot of time to strike back. Here, he gives a general statement on Orange Bowl preparation, Tech's secondary and Tech's star defensive end Derrick Morgan.
"I guess it would depend on your definition of interesting and fun," the Iowa offensive coordinator said about the 2009 season on Friday. He said Iowa's players actually made it a fun year. Being successful was very important to them. They took it seriously, found a way and made O'Keefe's "fun and interesting" season a success. He also said Iowa quarterback Ricky Stanzi is starting to run the ball, a little, in practice.
