Iowa RB Adam Robinson talks about being a 20-carry back, something no one saw coming back in August when Jewel Hampton (ACL) and Brandon Wegher (leave of absence) were on the team. He looked rumpled after Penn State, but says he's refreshed for the stretch run.
This interview with OL Julian Vandervelde has nothing to do with football. This is an interesting young man who'll be spotlighted by ESPN's College GameDay this Saturday morning at 10 a.m. I try to get Vandervelde to speak some Japanese, his minor at Iowa, but he didn't want to be put on the spot.
After sitting behind Tony Moeaki and Brandon Myers -- two NFL tight ends -- senior TE Allen Reisner plans to make the most of his season as the No. 1. But he's not going to go nuts with it and be all tense all the time out there.
You'll hear the word "leverage" a lot this week with Iowa football and its duel with Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson. Here, Iowa SS Tyler Sash talks about exactly what that means. Basically, Iowa likes to work from the outside in and doesn't want anything to get "outside" of it.
Cornerback Shaun Prater talks about the task of defending Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson. Again, leverage. None of the Iowa defenders wants anything happening to their outside. Then, there's trouble.
Outside linebacker Tyler Nielsen talks about the concept of leverage and what it means for Iowa going into its matchup against Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson, the most electric player in the Big Ten.
Last week, you heard offensive coordinator Ken O'Keefe talk about it. This week, Kirk Ferentz mentioned how much work senior QB Ricky Stanzi puts into pregame preparation. He touches on that here and talks about the growth of his football IQ, something he jokingly said was in the single digits at times last season.
It's not on camera, but sophomore CB Micah Hyde talked about his brother, Marcus, a defensive back at Michigan State. That's for a later story. Today, the topic was Michigan and QB Denard Robinson.
