Iowa WR Marvin McNutt discusses multiple topics, including QB Ricky Stanzi's Heisman chances, where Iowa sits in the Big Ten race and his development as a wide receiver. He said he's making plays this season he didn't last year. Also, Indiana is the home of McNutt's first career reception. He said he remembers everything about it.
OL Julian Vandervelde certainly touts Iowa QB Ricky Stanzi for the Heisman Trophy. It's the theme of the week, or one of them. Vandervelde talks about Stanzi's arm strength and the weapon that is Stanzi. Iowa's OL has only given up two sacks or something like that the last three games. "If we secure the pocket, we know we have a chance to win."
Senior TE Allen Reisner talks about junior TE Brad Herman and his growth. Also, Reisner talks about the development of true freshman TE C.J. Fiedorowicz, who hasn't seen the field as much as maybe everyone thought. Reisner says Herman is "a lot" faster than he is. As a duo, Reisner doesn't know how they stack up with the Ferentz era TEs. "We don't make the huge 95-yard TD catches . . . We do some small things."
Just fast forward through the beginning, a take on Sash's appearance on the Big Ten Network on Monday night. "I was just following directions. I don't think I'll have a career in broadcasting." Sash also is a participant in "No Shave November." Also, Sash talks WR Marvin McNutt development and what Iowa's D is like without a lot of health or depth at LB.
Iowa DT Mike Daniels talks about new freshman linebacker James Morris. "James loves football. He'll do whatever it takes to be the best. He brings energy and a fire to that field. He's going to be great to watch for the next couple years. We love to play with him." Also, he talks about his last trip to Indiana, when Daniels passed out at the end of the game and needed help getting off the field. Also, what is his plan out there, "Hit them in the mouth early and let them know it's going to be a long day."
Iowa QB Ricky Stanzi brushes through the "where do you stand in the Big Ten" question. He also touches on Indiana's defense and the continued development of WR Marvin McNutt, specifically two big plays he made last week against Michigan State. Also, there's some wrist wear talk. He threw a wristband to a kid. He also received one from a woman while running off the field. The band said, "Try and ruin my day" the band said.
