The Walkthrough -- Tennessee Tech

Slow start to the day.
Weather will be some sort of an issue at some point. It's blowing up to the west of IC. No, they won't postpone the game. They might have to wait out a lightning delay. We're still two hours out from kickoff. Could be completely different by then.
Saw Ed Podolak. He's using a cane, but he's getting around better than I do. Looks fantastic. He makes the $6 Million Dollar Man look like a potzer.
Haven't heard anything crazy injury-wise. Will do some digging.
The south end zone has some new signage, but it's tasteful. Iowa's Big Ten titles are commemorated on the brick. The south end zone also is now the "Black and Gold Zone."
Hawk Vision is percolating, touting the wonderfulness of Mediacom (DirecTV here).
When I played this game on X Box last night, it was Hawkeyes 48-10. Marcus Coker had 253 yards and three TDs. X Box didn't seem to dig James Vandenberg, who went 8 of 18 but still threw three TD passes.
I'll keep updating this until about 10:30. Then, I'll be tweeting into the live game chat with the hashtag #oniowacrg. Feel free to join. Don't be shy.
-- Tennessee Tech is running eight minutes late to the stadium, according to the Statey on the pregame radio show. Don't get in the middle of state patrol caravans. They tend to frown on that and will probably remember you on the ride home.
-- Talked to Norm. He's wary of Tech's speed and athleticism, but that's his job as D coordinator.
-- Northwestern quarterback Dan Persa is out for the Cats' game against Boston College. The day's first mild surprise.
-- The tight ends are out with the QBs. True freshman Ray Hamilton is out there. He's not wearing a redshirt. Four TEs (Hamilton, Herman, Fiedorowicz and Derby) are catching four QBs (Vandenberg, Derby, Wienke and Rudock).
-- It's 9:40. The gates are closed and fans and the teams are being held off the field because of the threat of lightning.
-- It's 9:56 and the gates are open.
-- B.J. Lowery broken wrist out four weeks. Dakota Getz out, shoulder surgery still rehabbing. Carl Davis has knee injury, might be out for ISU.
-- Had to duck out of TV. Rain and rain.
-- As mentioned (not really reported) on the blog yesterday, frosh running back Damon Bullock is lined up with the wide receivers. Must be a WR now.
-- Dominic Alvis starts at DT. Matt Tobin gets the start at RG.
Team is over. Let's football.
Yes, Tennessee Tech has a truck. It's all shiny and everything.
