The Walkthrough -- Penn State

Crazy pregame rumor -- Ricky Stanzi is fine. I won't even get into what the crazy pregame rumor was this week (there's one every week with Stanzi), but he's fine. He should be out throwing here in the next few minutes. Let's run down the crazy Ricky rumors: Concussion after Arizona (nope); flu last week (nope) and this week's deal, a hamstring.
I think fans get pregame jitters worse than the players and these kind of waft up. Any, not true, as far as I know.
And there he is with the other QBs. Long sleeves, white shoes and shaggy hair.
Linebacker A.J. Derby is out with the QBs, too. I kid. I believe Derby is fully vested as a QB. Could that change? Sure.
Bowls in the house -- The Orange Bowl folks are here -- again. The Orange people love Iowa and will take Iowa every time they possibly can. Three of them are yukking it up on the Iowa sidelines right now.
The Florida Citrus people are here, too. They represent the Capital One Bowl and the Champs Sports Bowl, which is no longer a Big Ten-affiliated bowl.
Penn State arrives -- This is my favorite part, when these huge guys arrive in suits with giant headphones on their heads.
The Nittany Lions are walking down the east sideline right now.
Say hello to Daniel Murray -- The senior kicker is on the field and warming up.
He's missed four games with a hip flexor strain. He's not doing a whole lot right now.
Mike Meyer just line drove a 45-yarder through the uprights. Trent Mossbrucker is practicing extra points. Murray just tried a 35-yarder from the middle of the field and looked very good.
Now, all three are doing it. So, keep an eye out.
Meyer good from 47, twice. And Mossbrucker good from 47. This is with a slight wind going with them.
Shook hands with Chad Greenway -- Great dude. Got the long hair going again. He was on before the P-C's Andy Hamilton and I were on the Hawkeye pregame. Chad predicted Hawkeye victory. Of course. Former Iowa RB and fellow Viking Albert Young is running around here, too.
KF on the radio -- Likes the freshman backs, they will help.
Need Ryan Donahue to help them out.
On Murray: They're going to start with Meyer and see how he does. Murray is in the bullpen.
So there you go, it's Meyer.
Team -- McNutt is in there. He's fine. Watch for Tarpinian. He needs to be evaluated before the game. He had a stinger last week.
RB Jason White dressed. Not Paki.
Tarpinian has been replaced by Troy Johnson. Tarp was with the 2s, so he must not be totally out.
Remember, he had a stinger last week.
OK, on to the game. Tonight's live blog is going to be a running game story, so I can get something in the newspaper.
The Penn State truck is painted like a helmet, but has Indiana plates. I don't get it, but here it is.
