The great University of Iowa tailgating controversy goes global
Mike Hlas Aug. 17, 2010 1:44 pm
The University of Iowa announced it will enforce new and old tailgating regulations this fall, and people are noticing.
College football super site The Wiz of Odds has a smorgasbord of Iowa tailgating and drinking-related videos today. It isn't the kind of thing that the UI administration will find amusing, but it might produced chuckles and chortles from the rest of the planet.
Here's a video the Wiz included that is, well, a bit on the disturbing side. Unless, of course, you think children should become apprentice bartenders.
I don't know how I feel about the whole tailgating issue. I always feel like an interloper, who just drops into Kinnick Stadium seven times a year to do a job and be an outsider looking in at all the fun in the parking lots and neighborhoods. So it doesn't trouble me, nor does it particularly appeal to me.
But for you people who are in the middle of it for some or all of the games, what do you think about the UI's announcement and how will it affect your feelings about the game-day experience?
