Sunday recruiting update

Sometime late in the fall, Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said he'd seen a record number of early commitments in recruiting for 2010 and that would likely lead to a record number of de-commitments.
Right on cue.
According to Scout.com, Iowa received a commitment from Birmingham (Mich.) Brother Rice wide receiver Kevonte Martin-Manley, a 6-0, 198-pounder. Martin-Manley previously committed to Bowling Green.
As a senior, Martin-Manley had 43 catches for 745 yards and 10 TDs. Here's one link on KMM. Martin-Manley also had 12 punt returns for 199 yards, and 14 kickoff returns for 314 yards.
Here's a YouTube highlights reel.
Iowa might have lost one, though.
According to Rivals.com, Harlan DL/TE Matt Hoch took an official visit to Missouri this weekend, where his brother, Dan, is a starting offensive tackle.
In the past, players who've committed to the Hawkeyes and then made more visits had their scholarships pulled by the Iowa staff. Wisconsin linebacker Kevin Rouse is an example.
Now, no word on that with Matt Hoch, who helped Harlan to the Class 3A state title last fall.
The Missouri Scout.com site has reported that Hoch switched his commitment to Missouri, but there's no word from the Missouri Rivals site, PowerMizzou.com. All signs point to Hoch to Missouri, though.
The turnover margin here would be even, with the Hawkeyes standing at 19 commitments. (One-time WR commit Stephane N'goumou will not be returning to Iowa, HawkeyeReport.com reported earlier this week.) I always used to write this, but I've been slack. These are "oral" commitments, which means they're non-binding. Nothing is official until the signed LOI is faxed to the Hayden Fry Football Complex on Feb. 3.
Iowa has two other defensive ends in this class, Mike Hardy and Louis Trinca-Pasat. Also, A.J. Derby is listed as an "athlete" and, with a few years in the weightroom, could -- potentially, mind you -- be an impact player somewhere on defense (if that QB thing doesn't work out).
This is the hard part about recruiting for me. This all could change 10 seconds after I post it.
