For those of you who have inquired on the health of former Hawkeye football player Brett Greenwood, the following is a statement from Brett's parents, Michele and Dave, that they have asked us to pass along. Thank-you for honoring their wishes for continued privacy.

“During this very difficult time for our family, we have been overwhelmed by the tremendous outpouring of support we have received from family, friends, the community and the Hawkeye Nation. It means a great deal to us to have so many people reaching out to us and telling us that they are praying for Brett.

Brett continues to fight and to make improvements. We would ask that you continue to keep Brett in your thoughts and prayers, now more than ever. We also appreciate everyone respecting our family's privacy at this time.”
