So what type of player is Iowa getting in Adam Woodbury?

IOWA CITY - Now that Adam Woodbury has committed to playing basketball at Iowa, the real question is what can he do on the court?
Woodbury, a 7-foot senior center from Sioux City East, is rated as the nation's seventh-post player and No. 42 overall by Rivals. He averaged 18.5 points and 12.4 rebounds a game last year for East. But his game is more than just statistics, according to the people who observe him, coach him and play with him.
"You talk about a rebounder and a finisher, he's as good as there is in the class on the blocks," said Van Coleman, national recruiting expert and publisher of Hoopmasters.com. "He finishes around people. He finishes with people on his arms. He really did a nice job of that this summer."
Woodbury carries a lanky frame to go along with his height. He's athletic for a 7-footer and can put on weight. That shouldn't be a problem, thanks to his work ethic and intensity.
"They're going to get a hard-working good player," Sioux City East Coach Raz Vanderloo said. "He is a worker. He has made himself what he is. He's a 7-foot kid that can run, with great hands, great feet, and a great passer. He's a player."
"He's got to improve at the free-throw line because you're going to get fouled a lot if you score a lot," Coleman said. "I think biggest thing for him is he works so hard, and he's always competing for every ball off the glass. He's done a very good job of being a great finisher, and he's developed a little jump hook that's made him tough to guard around the basket. I think the jump hook as much as anything lifted his game as an offensive player around the basket."
Woodbury also has the respect of his peers. Linn-Mar senior point guard Marcus Paige played with Woodbury on the All-Iowa Attack AAU team. Paige tried to talk Woodbury into joining him at North Carolina next year, but Woodbury spurned the Tar Heels for Iowa.
"He's legit," Paige said. "He's 7 foot, he can run the floor. He's probably one of the most skilled big guys in the entire country in terms of having developed a post game already. He's got a great jump hook and is pretty active. He's going to be great."
