Shonn Greene a First-Team Football Coaches Assn. All-America

Iowa running back Shonn Greene was a first-team selection Thursday on the Football Coaches' Association of America honor squad.
This is the first of what will be several national honors for Greene. It would be a shocker if he isn't on the Associated Press' first-team All-America squad, and if he doesn't win the Doak Walker Award as the nation's top running back.
Interestingly, the first-team quarterback on the FCAA unit is Texas Tech's Graham Harrell. That tells me most or all of the voting was done before the Texas Tech-Oklahoma game.
Here's a piece by someone at an oft-visited Web site who thinks Greene should be among the Heisman Trophy finalists over Harrell:
Another piece I find interesting suggests if the Heisman really went to college football's best player, only one of the top 10 candidates would be a quarterback, and that would be Oklahoma's Sam Bradford. The writer lists Greene among the 10, and the only running back at that. The link:
