Rodney Coe, we hardly knew ye

In fact, we didn't know ye at all.
We heard the 6-foot-3, 240-pound running back from Edwardsville, Ill. (near St. Louis) was a big-time "get" for Iowa's football program.
Well, not quite. Not yet, anyhow.
Coe couldn't academically qualify to start at Iowa this fall, so he's headed to Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs for a year. Whether he one day heads east to Iowa City to join the Hawkeyes, we'll see. But Coe has never really been a Hawkeye, so ... again, we'll see.
Meanwhile, as our friends at SourceMedia's Eastern Iowa Sports and Rec (football, basketball, shuffleboard) tell us, former prep star running back Andre Dawson of Cedar Rapids is leaving Northern Iowa to go to ... Iowa Western.
