Rashad Vaughn visits Iowa State

Nov. 17, 2013 1:55 pm
AMES -- Rashad Vaughn is a five-star guy, a future one-and-done.
That means, he is quite a high school basketball player. Some say he's the best prep shooting guard in America. Many say he's one of the top 10 or 12 high school players in all the land. Rivals.com pegs him at No. 7.
Iowa State is a candidate to get the 6-foot-5 Vaughn to come here. He took his first official visit to any college this weekend, and it was here, coinciding with the Cyclones' game against Michigan Sunday afternoon.
Here is a story by Gazette correspondent Rob Gray with quotes from Vaughn.
Vaughn is from Golden Valley, Minn., and is currently attending Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nev. He will make his official visit to UNLV later in the month. He also is considering Baylor, Kansas, Arizona, North Carolina and Minnesota, but ISU and UNLV reportedly have legs up. Vaughn said he'll visit North Carolina. He won't decide until spring, so it's still way early in the process.
Vaughn was at the Baylor-ISU game last season. As you can see, some ISU students came prepared to romance the player, who had a front row seat.
