Play the Hlog's Bowl Contest, win valuable prizes!
Mike Hlas Dec. 21, 2009 9:41 pm
OK, I don't know what the prize will be, or how valuable it will be. It will be something I acquire at the Orange Bowl, undoubtedly as a freebie.
Or there will be no prize whatsoever.
But you people aren't mercenaries. You're good folks who still believe a job well done is reward enough. You built the railroads, the bridges, the skyscrapers. You dug the coal. You worked in the factories and fields. Yours were the hands that made America!
And now, it's time to reward you. I will list the bowl games from Dec. 24 through Jan. 8 and their Nevada pointspreads. You will pick six -- any six -- teams against the spread. (For instance, if you pick Nevada, you're saying Nevada will beat SMU in the Hawaii Bowl by more than 12 points.)
The tiebreaker is the number of rushing yards Georgia Tech gains in the Orange Bowl. You need a tiebreaker to, uh, break the tie should you end up, uh, tied for the lead.
The person with the best record will be praised here next Jan. 8 and will be inducted into the Hlog's Hall of Fame at our annual ceremony sometime next year, depending on when the banquet room is available.
The deadline for entry is 6 p.m., Central time, Christmas Eve. Pick six teams and list a tiebreaker in the
comments box. Good luck, and please, drive safely.
