Yes, walked on.

The Cyclones great eventually helped his team to two NCAA Tournament trips under coach Johnny Orr - including a run into the 1986 Sweet Sixteen.

Oh, by the way, Hornacek - who was inducted into ISU's athletics hall of fame in 1999 - has the Suns at 9-9. They were 25-57 last season.
