Orange Bowl: Wednesday video interviews
Marc Morehouse
Dec. 30, 2009 6:10 pm
The buses the Hawkeyes are traveling through Miami in are wrapped with a team photo. This is QB Ricky Stanzi with a reflector in his belly.
Fifth-year senior center Rafael Eubanks talks about a possible lineup change for the Orange Bowl, with right tackle Kyle Calloway sliding inside to guard and freshman Riley Reiff moving out to tackle. That might be a move to combat Georgia Tech tackle T.J Barnes, who's 6-7, 341 pounds. Also, we tried to pin Raf down on who gets the center job next season. His answer was pretty political.
Iowa linebacker A.J. Edds talks about the chop (an illegal block that's a 15-yard penalty) and a cut block. Georgia Tech uses the cut block, but often gets called for chop blocks.
Eubanks talks about some celebrity run-ins in Miami, including Jamie Foxx.
The Iowa coach offers several updates. He didn't want to talk about position switches in the O-line or injuries, leaving the injury thing at "we've got some guys working through some things." He expected everyone to be healthy. He also had an update on the NFL with Bryan Bulaga and Amari Spievey. No decision, but the info is in their hands.
