Nine video interviews from the Iowa lockerroom, this is a first for me after 11 years of doing this.
Enjoy.
The Iowa offensive tackle talks about the power play that led to Brandon Wegher's 32-yard TD that sealed Iowa's 24-14 Orange Bowl victory. He also talked about the NFL. Here's a sample: The thing is its not all about the money, Bulaga said. I dont think a lot of people realize that. Its about the love of the game. Every guy in here dreams about the next level and going to the NFL. When an opportunity knocks on the door, some guys are ready to take it and some want to stay an extra year."
The Iowa wide receiver talks about the pain in his hip and knee after a second-quarter injury. Early indications are that it's not serious, but he had to conduct interviews while sitting down. He was having a great game until he got hurt, catching four passes for 63 yards. He also talks about the records that might be out there for him next season.
The Iowa safety talks about the defensive effort, coordinator Norm Parker and the Hawkeyes' 24-14 Orange Bowl victory over Georgia Tech.
The DE was the Orange Bowl MVP with nine tackles and two sacks. He spearheaded an Iowa defensive effort that held the nation's No. 2 rush offense to half of its usual production. He talks a little about next season's DL, which features four returning starters.
The Iowa WR actually couldn't see the 21-yard TD he caught in the first quarter that gave the Hawkeyes a 14-0 lead over Georgia Tech. He lost it in the stadium lights but found it just in time. He came back from a nasty concussion and had his best game of the season, four catches for 53 yards and his first TD since Florida International, the second game last season.
The sophomore wideout talks about his 4-yard TD catch, a fade route over the top of corner Jerrard Tarrant. He also talks about the possibilities for Iowa's offense next season.
The South Dakota native didn't put his name in for the left tackle job, but he might be pretty soon. Bryan Bulaga will announce his NFL intentions at the end of the week. Reiff might now be Iowa's top returning O-linemen. Eubanks, Richardson and Kyle Calloway are gone for sure. Bulaga might be gone. Iowa's OL is on high alert for '10.
The Iowa linebacker talks about Georgia Tech's offense and what the Hawkeyes did to shut it down. He also talks about the different assignments players had. Iowa held Tech to 143 yards, its second-lowest total of the season.
The big fella played coy with me, but a few minutes after this he told Iowa radio that he will not petition for a sixth year of eligibility and will put his name in for the NFL draft. He did play a few snaps in the Orange Bowl.
