Nov. 16, 2010 5:49 pm
Iowa DT Karl Klug talks about Ohio State's running attack, the Us against the world mentality this week (Every week is a new week. Last week sucked.) and the fact that it's Ohio State and how they have to move past NU ("We have to flush it today.")
No, Iowa SS Tyler Sash didn't want to talk about the Facebook "contact" he had with a fan earlier this week, but he did say it kind of epitomized the "Us vs. the World" mentality that Iowa football has embraced this week. "It's about us . . . It's up against guys on our team to get our job done."
Senior OL Julian Vandervelde brings up an example of a positive fan reaction. He also talks about the "noise" on the outside and how that sets up a bunker mentality that might allow them to go out and actually play the game. Good explanation about building up the wall to the outside.
Iowa QB Ricky Stanzi talks about the offensive troubles of the last two weeks. "We just let stupid things get in our way." His take on "us against the world" is "We've been down this road before. . . . As upset as people may be, we're not too concerned with it."
Iowa RB Adam Robinson certainly senses "us against the world" in the Iowa football complex this week.
Iowa DL Christian Ballard, "We had two close games and a tough opponent coming . . . We've just got to stay with it. . . . You feel pressure, but we just keep trying to keep it together."
The results of 'No Shave November.'
