Nebraska 1 giant O-lineman, Hawkeyes 0

Iowa was the first college to offer Nebraska offensive lineman Zach Sterup a scholarship. Nebraska was sixth or seventh.
Sterup, a 6-9, 265-pounder, is from Hastings, Neb., so the Hawkeyes were fighting an uphill battle. Sterup picked the Huskers this weekend. He picked the Huskers despite the fact that the school already has four O-linemen committed for the 2011 class.
The hometown Huskers called and Sterup answered.
“I was kind of thinking Nebraska all along, and I just decided it wasn't going to get any better than that," Sterup told the Omaha World-Herald. "It was a gut feeling, and I had to go with it.”
This is probably little consolation for Iowa fans, but he also said, "“One of the hardest things I had to do,” he said, “was call Iowa and tell them I committed to Nebraska.”
Last week, Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz was asked if recruiting would change now that the Huskers were headed toward the Big Ten. The two schools will likely be paired in the same division in football. They might end up finishing the season in a rivalry game.
He said he didn't think it'd be any different. The two schools have always butted heads on the border and will likely continue.
