My votes . . .

This is voting season for me. I've lost count on all the awards I vote on, but so far this year, here are my votes:
Lombardi Award: This award goes to the nation's most outstanding interior player. I went with Nebraska's Ndamukong Suh. I thought this was a no-brainer. I've seen four Nebraska games and he's a constant force. Others up for this award were Alabama's Terence Cody, TCU's Jerry Hughes and Oklahoma's Gerald McCoy. I picked McCoy second and Cody third.
Biletnikoff Award: This goes to the nation's top wide receiver. This was tougher. I first settled on Texas' Jordan Shipley, who's had an amazing year for the Longhorns. But in the end, I pulled the trigger for Notre Dame's Golden Tate. He finished with 93 catches for 1,496 yards and 15 TDs. He did his part during a season of strife at ND, which culminated in head coach Charlie Weis' firing today.
Doak Walker Award: You might remember my Walker vote from last year, one Shonn Greene. I actually wrote the story for the program at last year's banquet. This year, I went with Stanford's Toby Gerhart, who's rushed for 1,736 yards and 27 TDs. The other two finalists were Clemson's C.J. Spiller (my second choice) and Alabama's Mark Ingram.
I briefly considered UTEP's Donald Buckram for this very reason:
Yes, that is a real American dollar that had Buckram's face pasted on it. It was a delicious Diet Coke for me.
This will be my 15th Heisman vote. I always wait until the conference championship games are over before casting this vote. Right now I've got Gerhart, Spiller, Suh, Texas' Colt McCoy, Florida's Tim Tebow and Boise State's Kellen Moore.
Of course, if Donald Buckram's people want to up the ante, I might be able to open a spot.
Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh was my choice for the 2009 Lombardi Award. He has a website, www.Suh93.com. (AP photo)
