My all-Big Ten
Marc Morehouse

I don't have an all-Big Ten vote this year, but I do have an opinion.
DEFENSE
DL -- Ryan Kerrigan, Purdue
DL -- O'Brien Schofield, Wisconsin
DL -- Brandon Graham, Michigan
DL -- Adrian Clayborn, Iowa
Where I'm wrong -- Penn State's Jared Odrick is worthy. Ohio State's Cameron Heyward and Thaddeus Gibson are worthy and will likely make the cut here somewhere. Northwestern's Corey Wootton might've wrecked Iowa's season, but he didn't put up enough numbers to make the cut here. If any one of the above gets the shaft, it'll be Clayborn, you just know it.
LB -- Pat Angerer, Iowa
LB -- Ross Homan, Ohio State
LB -- Greg Jones, Michigan State
Where I'm wrong -- Penn State's duo of Sean Lee and Navorro Bowman are very, very good and will be paid to play this game very, very soon. Iowa's A.J. Edds dserves all-Big Ten positional player. Jones is probably the conference D-MVP.
Defensive backs
S -- Tyler Sash, Iowa
S -- Kurt Coleman, Ohio State
CB -- Sherrick McManis, Northwestern
CB -- Donovan Warren, Michigan
Where I'm wrong -- Ohio State's Chimdi Chekwa and Iowa's Amari Spievey will get votes here. I'm not sure they get enough to punch through to the first team. McManis was a close call for me over Chekwa, who's got NFL stamped on the back of his jersey.
OFFENSE
QB -- Mike Kafka, Northwestern
Where I'm wrong -- Who else? I considered Ricky Stanzi, Terrell Pryor. I'm playing the "meant most to his team" card here.
RB -- John Clay, Wisconsin
RB -- Evan Royster
Where I'm wrong -- Thought about Purdue's Ralph Bolden and Iowa's Adam Robinson. If Robinson doesn't sprain an ankle, he's first team and he has a 1,000 yards. What a story that kid is. I had him pegged for special teams and maybe some Jewel Hampton relief carries this season.
OL -- Gabe Carimi, Wisconsin
OL -- Bryan Bulaga, Iowa
OL -- James Brewer, Indiana
OL -- Jared Zwilling, Purdue
OL -- Jon Asamoah, Illinois
Where I'm wrong -- Indiana and Illinois get theirs here, although Asamoah is a very good player. Is Bulaga worthy? I think yes. Carimi and Zwilling are the best of units that were two of the Big Ten's better rushing squads.
TE -- Garrett Graham, Wisconsin
WR -- DeVier Posey, Ohio State
WR -- Keith Smith, Purdue
Where I'm wrong -- Graham had better numbers and a better overall resume than Iowa's Tony Moeaki. Close, but Graham, who coincidentally was knocked out of the Iowa game. Smith led the Big Ten with 91 catches for 1,100 yards. Those are NFL numbers. Posey might be the best big-play receiver in the Big Ten. Lots of good names here, including Minnesota's Eric Decker, Illinois Arrelious Benn, Indiana's Tandon Doss and Michigan State's Blair White. Iowa's Derrell Johnson-Koulianos and Northwestern's Zeke Markshausen are in there, too. A loaded position.
SPECIALISTS
K -- Brett Swenson, Michigan State
P -- Zoltan Mesko, Michigan
Where I'm wrong -- I like Iowa's Ryan Donahue a lot, but Mesko has a big, NFL leg. Swenson is strong, accurate and a record-setter at MSU.
PLAYERS OF THE YEAR
Offense -- John Clay, Wisconsin RB
Defense -- Greg Jones, Michigan State LB
O-lineman -- Jared Zwilling, Purdue
D-lineman -- Brandon Graham, Michigan
Freshman -- Adam Robinson, Iowa RB
Coach of the year -- Kirk Ferentz, Iowa
Where I'm wrong -- Wisconsin LB Chris Borland might nudge Robinson. UW coach Bret Bielema has openly campaigned for his guy.
Not a lot of bold picks here. I think Clay and Jones had production that elevated them.
This is very quick and off-the-cuff. Feel free to destroy. Or agree. Or say not enough Hawkeye.
(EDIT: Oops, forgot coach of the year. No thinking went into that one.)
