Monday Morning Checklist

Ten things:
1. Dan Gable is the guest on tonight's "On Iowa Live" at 6:30 on KCRG 9.2 and KCRG.com. It will also air on KCRG 9.2 Tuesday and Wednesday at 1 p.m. and Saturday at 7 a.m.
2. I remember when everything and everyone in Wisconsin was flying high. It was the first weekend of October. The Brewers had won the first two games of their best-of-5 series with Arizona. The Packers rolled over the Denver Broncos and quarterback ... Kyle Orton ... to improve to 4-0. The Badgers blitzed Nebraska, 48-17, to up their record to 5-0 and start their Big Ten season in style.
Well, the Brewers lost the NLCS to St. Louis. Ryan Braun's MVP award was tarnished by the 50-game suspension he got for testing positive for a banned substance under baseball's drug policy. And Prince Fielder is bugging out of Brewtown.
Meanwhile, the Badgers did win the Big Ten, but lost on a Hail Mary at Michigan State, lost late in the game at Ohio State, and lost to Oregon in the Rose Bowl. On Oct. 2, Wisconsin looked like BCS title-game material.
And the Packers? Well, they went 15-1 in the regular season. And 0-1 in the postseason.
3. On the first "On Iowa Live," I predicted Alabama would win the BCS title.
4. I also predicted Iowa would tie Nebraska and Michigan State for first-place in the Legends Division at 6-2.
5. Already, I've read complaints from media mopes saying if it's Baltimore-San Francisco in the Super Bowl, we'll get the John Harbaugh-vs.-Jim Harbaugh storyline pounding us into a coma. Uh, hello. You don't think two brothers coaching the two Super Bowl teams wouldn't be a legitimately wild, impossible story? Even more impossible: Joe Flacco and Alex Smith as the two Super Bowl quarterbacks. Getting past Tom Brady is going to take a bit of doing.
And besides, the odds are against it being a Baltimore-San Francisco Super Bowl. Why worry about something like that until it becomes reality?
6. We need a video, and this is it:
7. I'm really, really not sorry I didn't catch Wisconsin's 50-45 basketball win over Nebraska Sunday. Or Minnesota's 80-66 win at Penn State. Or Ohio State's 80-63 win over Indiana, which the Buckeyes led 35-14 at halftime.
8. I'm even less sorry I missed seeing Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic shoot 39 free-throws (an NBA record) and make 21 in a game a few nights ago. Yeccch.
9. Recommended reading: Kent Babb of the Kansas City Star on Arrowhead Anxiety, fear and perhaps loathing within the Kansas City Chiefs organization.
10. This was Tebow-free. Almost.
