KCRG's John Sears and I touched on several Iowa football topics going into Saturday's spring game. John is a really good, smooth broadcaster. I'm a bum.
We talked about some of the real competitions this spring, or what we perceive as the real competitions, including center, right guard, middle linebacker and kicker.
Also, we discuss DE Adrian Clayborn's weaknesses. That was a short conversation. Don't see any. How about you? I think camp legs contributed to a slow start from the D-line last season, because they poured it on for 11 straight.
Lastly, we talk quarterback A.J. Derby and his quickest way to the field -- possibly a few series here or there to showcase his legs. That's a big perhaps, but it's at least somewhat of a perhaps.
This show airs on Local 9.2 at 10:35 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
We don't have a name for this. Taking suggestions. Also, I planned to wear a tie today, but I had got a haircut, so I didn't want a hairshirt the rest of the afternoon.
Iowa's Adrian Clayborn smiles as he runs onto the field to exchange plans with a teammate during the first of Iowa's spring practice at the Kenyon Football Practice Facility on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, in Iowa City. (Jim Slosiarek/The Gazette)
