Jake Knott's news conference Wednesday (VIDEO)

Iowa State linebacker Jake Knott spoke during an understandably emotional media event Wednesday in Ames.

He'll be an "assistant-assistant coach" for linebackers for the remainder of the season after undergoing left shoulder surgery Monday.

He totaled 11 tackles and forced a fumble while playing through excruciating pain in last week's 35-21 win over Baylor.
