Iowa's streak of 239 straight games with a 3-pointer was only about one-third of the national record, and not half of the Iowa State women's current streak

Iowa went 0-for-12 from 3-point range in its 85-66 men's basketball loss at Michigan State, which was the only notable thing about that game in my opinion.
You seldom see any team post an 0-fer from 3-point land, in any game. That is evidenced by the fact it snapped the Hawkeyes' stretch of 239 games with a three, and that covers a few bad teams.
Still, 239 games is a lot of games. So I was curious. What's the longest streak of games with a 3-pointer in D-I men's ball?
The answer: Nevada-Las Vegas, 801 straight games. UNLV has made a 3-pointer in every game since the NCAA instituted the 3-point shot in the 1986-87 season.
Vanderbilt is right behind the Runnin' Rebels at 791 games, also never having gone three-less since the 3-point lines were drawn. Kentucky is on the Commodores' heels with its own streak of 776 games.
Princeton is the other D-I team to have made a 3 in every game it could make a 3, having done so in 691 consecutive games through Thursday. The Ivy League school obviously plays fewer games per year than UNLV and Vanderbilt.
Samford has made a three in its last 594 game and has made at least two treys in its last 476 contests.
Iowa State holds the all-time women's record with 513 straight games (and counting) with a 3-pointer. The Cyclones claimed the record on Feb. 21, three days after Canisius College's streak ended at 510 games. ISU's streak began on Feb. 19, 1995.
