Iowa with just four of the 100 'Big Ten Icons' finalists

Earlier this week I asked you to submit who you thought the University of Iowa's top athlete icons of all-time were. That's because the Big Ten Network announced it was going to have a top 50 of the conference's all-time icons, starting this fall.

 You gave a nice variety of choices, and good ones at that.

Well, a media panel in Indianapolis met this week and pared the candidates list to 100. Just four are from Iowa. They are Tom Brands, Alex Karras, Nile Kinnick and Chuck Long.

Not a single basketball player, male or female. Here's the list:
