Iowa State football: Links to Pinstripe Bowl coverage
Jan. 3, 2012 9:44 am
Iowa State capped off its 2011 football season, which included wins over 12-1 Oklahoma State and in-state rival Iowa, with a disappointing loss to Rutgers in the Pinstripe Bowl. But it was a remarkable run to a bowl game for the Cyclones, who were picked to finish 2-10 by Sports Illustrated.
Iowa State (6-7) played seven ranked opponents this year, the second-most nationally (behind only LSU). Iowa State also played three unranked bowl teams (Iowa, Rutgers, Missouri) and faced FCS quarterfinalist Northern Iowa.
