I'm not big on reprinting press releases, but this one is a story in itself in my opinion.
Iowa men's basketball, with all the elbow room a spectator could desire, is trying to entice people to actually attend next Wednesday's home game against Ohio State. After you read the following release, tell us what you think about this:
IOWA CITY, IA – There are plenty of incentives to attend next week's men's basketball game against Ohio State. The Hawkeyes are scheduled to face the nationally-ranked Buckeyes next Wednesday (January 27
th
) at 7:35 p.m. in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Some of the added reasons to attend include:
All UI students will be admitted FREE with a current UI student ID! Students can pick-up their FREE ticket prior to the game at the IMU Box Office, at the ticket window in Carver-Hawkeye Arena, or at the SOUTH entrance the night of the game. (There will be additional RED and BLUE Cambus routes to Carver-Hawkeye Arena that night.)
Pregame: Fans will receive an official FedEx Orange Bowl Championship poster! Select football players will be available for autographs. There will also be a FedEx Orange Bowl trophy photo opportunity available to fans on the concourse. Doors to the arena open at 6 p.m.
Halftime: Defensive end Adrian Clayborn Award will be presented his award for Defensive Impact Player of the Year. There will also be a celebration of this year's FedEx Orange Bowl victory.
The game has also been designated a “BE BOLD, WEAR GOLD!” game.
- It's also UI Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night! Iowa's faculty and staff can purchase a group rate ticket ($14) by displaying their University ID at the ticket window in Carver-Hawkeye Arena, prior to or the night of the game. Faculty/Staff may also order online by following directions they received in an email.
One lucky fan will win a round-trip airline ticket compliments of Allegiant Air.
Tickets to the general public are $20 for adult and $10 for youth, 18 and under.
Iowa's hoping for ticket lines like this
