Iowa Hawkeyes' Orange Bowl trip has begun -- photos and video
Mike Hlas Dec. 27, 2009 1:41 pm
Baby, it was cold at the Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids Sunday afternoon.
The wind blew, the snow flew, and a party of about 260 boarded a Delta Airlines Airbus 330 for Miami International. As this is posted, the Hawkeyes are airborne. If all goes on schedule, they'll be in their Miami Beach hotel by early Sunday night.
In the meantime, here is a brief video (I incorrectly called it a Skybus in the video) and a few photos of the scene outside the airport's cargo building, which Landmark Aviation used in helping the Hawkeyes escape the polar weather:
Then, courtesy of Keith Murphy's Twitter feed, comes a photo from the other end of the trip.
