Iowa's men's basketball team lost 69-59 to Minnesota today at Williams Arena. The Hawkeyes now fall to 7-10 overall and 0-5 in the Big Ten, the team's worst start since 1917.
Iowa twice had started 0-5 in the Big Ten -- 1916-17 and 1912-13. Iowa never has started 0-6 in Big Ten play and now must play at likely No. 1 Ohio State on Wednesday.
Iowa took the lead three different times in the second half against the Gophers, the last coming with 14 minutes left in the game at 40-37. But Minnesota went on a 15-2 run, eventually taking a 14-point lead with less than 4 minutes left.
