Iowa falls at No. 1 Ohio State

No. 1 Ohio State rolled Iowa 70-48 tonight at Value City Arena. The loss gave Iowa its first 0-6 Big Ten start in school history.
Iowa now is 2-19 all-time against top-ranked teams. It's also Iowa's 22nd consecutive loss to a ranked team.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Top-ranked Ohio State has shown its offensive diversity and effectiveness while building a 40-23 halftime lead against Iowa tonight at Value City Arena.
The Buckeyes (18-0, 5-0 Big Ten) hit 53.6 percent of their shots in the first half (15 of 28), including five 3-pointers. Iowa, however, missed several layups and open jump shots and shot just 35.7 percent from the floor.
Iowa (7-10, 0-5) has lost 21 straight games to ranked opponents, dating to former coach Todd Lickliter's first season at Iowa. Iowa's last win against a ranked opponent was Jan. 12, 2008 against No. 7 Michigan State. With a loss Iowa also will set a school record for most consecutive losses to start a Big Ten season with six.
Iowa is 2-18 against top-ranked teams and has never beaten a No. 1 at the team's home court.
Andrew Brommer and Matt Gatens each scored six points, while Zach McCabe chipped in with five for the Hawkeyes. Ohio State 's William Buford leads all scorers with 11 points, while David Lighty added eight points. Center Dallas Lauderdale scored seven of Ohio State's first 12 points.
The Hawkeyes switched defenses midway through the first half after trailing 20-10. Iowa went away from its man-to-man style to zone. The Buckeyes scored just as many points after the switch as they did before it.
Turnovers also have cripped Iowa, which has 10.
