Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz spent six years as an NFL assistant coach. He coached college seniors once in the Senior Bowl, which is basically an NFL job interview in Mobile, Ala. Iowa has three players headed there this season, QB Ricky Stanzi, DE Adrian Clayborn and DE Christian Ballard.
Iowa defensive end Adrian Clayborn would've been a first-round NFL draft pick if he would've come out last season. He waited. He'll still be a first-round pick and he'll have a college diploma.
