In Las Vegas, odds on Northern Iowa to win the national title have dropped dramatically
Mike Hlas Mar. 22, 2010 5:07 pm
Adjustments have been made in Las Vegas now that we're down to 16 teams left in the NCAA tournament.
This story on Covers.com tells us Northern Iowa opened the tournament at 250-to-1 against winning the national title. Now, the Panthers are 60-1.
But according to vegasinsider.com, UNI opened at 75-1 and now can be had at 40-1. (as of 5 p.m., Monday, Central time)
Kansas, of course, had been the favorite. For those who bought tickets on the Jayhawks before last Saturday night, please use recycling bins for that paper.
Vegasinsider.com says UNI was 30-1 to win the Midwest Region before the tourney, 5-1 today.
Michigan State, even without injured star Kalin Lucas, is a 1- to 1.5-point favorite in Las Vegas sportsbooks.
