I have two Orange Bowl tickets to give away - but only to someone who needs them
Mike Hlas Jan. 3, 2010 5:14 pm
It's true. I have two excellent tickets for Tuesday night's Orange Bowl. They came to me courtesy of someone in Cedar Rapids whio couldn't use them.
On whom to I bestow $195 tickets in the 24th row of Land Shark Stadium?
I have no idea. But if you or someone you know are here in south Florida and want these tickets, convince me you want them. Tell me why you want them (you don't have to beg), and most importantly, promise me you'll use them instead of selling them for an immoral profit.
I will be going to the seat locations shortly before the game, and if I learn you have resold them, I will shame you here like you haven't been shamed since you stole that car when you were 16. But there's no need to drag my - I mean, your - past into this.
If you're willing to track me down -- either in Fort Lauderdale Monday morning or at the Hawkeye Huddle in Miami Beach Monday afternoon -- and prove you're truly in need of the two seats, email me at mike.hlas@gazcomm.com with your phone number and a persuasive statement.
This is no gag. Someone was nice enough to provide these tickets, and I want them to go to good Iowans or former Iowans. If none step forward, I'll give them to good Georgians or former Georgians.
If you plan to dress like this, don't even ask
