I ask for so little, so give me Ohio and Xavier wins tonight
Mike Hlas Mar. 23, 2012 12:14 pm
I have no allegiance to the state of Ohio. Sure, Cleveland rocks. And in my mind, Skyline Chili of Cincinnati is what chili is supposed to be.
But I can't abide a Final Four that looks something like this: Syracuse, Florida, North Carolina, Kentucky.
No. That won't do. We need something that resembled last year's upsetting of the apple cart, with both Butler and Virginia Commonwealth in the Final Four.
Enter Ohio. The Bobcats of the Mid-American Conference need to take down North Carolina tonight.
Enter Xavier. Baylor would be a darling story to many, but I'd rather see Xavier of the Atlantic 10 survive and advance by beating the Bears.
As for Saturday's Ohio State-Syracuse game, the Buckeyes are the only real hope left for the Big Ten. Indiana's not defeating Kentucky again. Although it would be pretty great if it happened.
If it's North Carolina-Kansas in Sunday's regional final, let me know how it ends. I think I've seen that movie before, like a zillion times. North Carolina and Kansas. They never go away, do they?
Florida is not endearing to me even if it is a No. 7 seed. No program with two national-titles is warm-and-fuzzy. Ditto Louisville.
Give us a Final Four with Ohio, Ohio State and Xavier just to freak out America. In a good way. If you haven't had Skyline Chili, by the way, do you have something against living?
Cleveland rocks!
Get out of the way, Tar Heels
