Jordan Walsh, an offensive lineman at Glen Ellyn (Ill.) Glenbard West, has committed to the Iowa Hawkeyes, according to Rivals.com.
Walsh, 6-foot-3, 275 pounds, picked the Hawkeyes over 19 offers, including Michigan, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Tennessee.
"I really didn't have plans to commit this early to be honest," Walsh told Rivals. "Iowa was always near the top for me from early on but I also wanted to check out some other schools. I like what a lot of other schools had to offer but in the end none of them could offer me the complete package like Iowa offers me."
During week three of last season, Walsh was voted YourSeason.com's top star of Week 3 on the Chicago Sun-Times website. Walsh recovered a fumble for a key touchdown and led a line that produced more than 250 yards rushing in a 28-25 win over Hinsdale Central.
Walsh is the 13th commitment for the Hawkeyes.
Iowa had some movement on its recruiting board last week.
The Hawkeyes added defensive back Torrey Campbell from Naples, Fla. He had 13 offers and committed to the Hawkeyes over Wisconsin, Tennessee and Kansas.
Iowa also had a decommit in Horn, Texas, wide receiver JaCorey Shepherd, who decided on Kansas and new offensive coordinator Chuck Long. Yes, that Chuck Long.
