Good night for ex-Hawks in NFL Friday

Shonn Greene's getting the money in New York. Albert Young, Greene's predecessor and former teammate at running back at Iowa, is trying to get some for himself.
Young had 14 carries for 58 yards and three catches for 13 yards in the Minnesota Vikings' 13-3 preseason win at Indianapolis Friday night. He is battling for the No. 3 RB job behind Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor. He played on the Vikings' practice squad last year.
Greene, meanwhile, had nine rushes for 45 yards in the Jets' 23-20 home loss to St. Louis. So ... a good start.
Rookie defensive tackle Matt Kroul saw action for the Jets and had a tackle.
Ex-Iowa tight end Brandon Myers, also a rookie, had two catches for 29 yards in the Oakland Raiders' 31-10 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday.
I'm here in the Twin Cities, and Sage Rosenfels is an oft-mentioned name in these parts. The ex-Iowa State quarterback is battling Tarvaris Jackson for the starting job at that position with the Vikings.
Rosenfels got off to a good start, going 10-for-13 passing for 91 yards and leading two scoring drives in the Vikings' win at Indy.
