Sometimes the grass is greener somewhere else, sometimes it just snows.
There are five men who coached NCAA Division I basketball teams in Iowa who now coach a college squad elsewhere.
They had varying degrees of success in Iowa, but all have led teams to NCAA tournaments somewhere in their careers.
Tim Floyd has done it at three schools (New Orleans, Iowa State, USC) and may do it at a fourth (UTEP) this season.
Here are their 2010-11 records and more:
Steve Alford, New Mexico
This season: 16-7 overall, 4-4 in Mountain West Conference.
Since he left Iowa: 92-33 in four seasons at New Mexico, 41-15 in the MWC.
Keno Davis, Providence
This season: 14-10 overall, 3-8 in Big East.
Since he left Drake: 45-43 in three seasons at Providence, 17-30 in Big East.
Larry Eustachy, Southern Mississippi

Since he left Iowa State: 90-82 in seven seasons at USM, 33-49 in C-USA.
Tim Floyd, Texas-El Paso
