Moser's second in state meet
PELLA - The Moser School of Dance and Gymnastic placed second at the Iowa USTA Power Tumbling State Championships, winning 23 state titles and qualifying 125 students for the national meet.
Twenty-five Iowa clubs and around 615 athletes competed in the state meet.
Mosers champions were Breanna Vaske, Jacob Gasper, Madison Habel, Aly Sayre, Meliah Eiben, Luke Farmer, Noah Weber, Caleb Weber, Kylie Henry, Gabbi Funke, Avery Sweeney, Walker Schulte, Josh Beatty, Micah Brase, Hannabelle Erickson, Kylie Winter, Emma Bockenstedt, Grace Funke, Emmy Raye Troester, Maya Burkhart, Jorgie Wendling, McAllister Sweeney and Kennedi Bevans.
The national championships are this month in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
6 area soccer teams win state titles
DES MOINES - Six Cedar Rapids and Iowa City youth soccer team won state titles, advancing to the U.S. Youth Soccer Midwest Regionals later this month.
The Cedar Rapids Soccer Association U15 boys and U16 boys won titles, along with a combined Cedar Rapids-Iowa City team (CRSA/ISC) in the U17 boys' division, two Iowa City Alliance teams (U15 and U17 girls) and an Eastern Iowa United team from Iowa City in U19 boys.
The Midwest Regional is June 22-26 at Cownie Sports Complex in Des Moines.
