Coaching 'legend' says Hawkeyes lack speed, athleticism

Each week, The Sporting News runs a Top 25 poll determined by 17 former college football coaches of renown.

None have Iowa in their Top 5.

"There's not much overall speed or athleticisim there," said former Texas A&M Coach R.C. Slocum.

"They remind me of Ohio State from 2002 -- they're winning ugly," ex-Ohio State Coach John Cooper said.

Still, Iowa is No. 7 in the Legends Poll, the same spot they hold in Associated Press' rankings and a notch higher than the USA Today coaches' poll.
