Clayborn to enter guilty plea

Here's an update on Iowa DE Adrian Clayborn's assault case.
He's pleading guilty, but we don't know what he's pleading to.
Last March, Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said this about Clayborn's case:
"Sometimes there are two sides to stories," Ferentz said Wednesday at his spring football news conference. "Sometimes you have enough evidence in front of you where you're pretty sure something needs to be done and sometimes you don't. It's about as simple as that.
"Based on what I know right now, I can tell you pretty clearly I'm not sure what happened. I can tell you as far as Adrian goes, Adrian's been an exemplary student and citizen since he's been here. He's been a great team member, conducted himself above and beyond."
Clayborn, 20, allegedly punched a cabdriver for honking at him during a traffic jam Jan. 18. According to a police complaint, Clayborn had to be physically restrained to pull him back to his vehicle. Wednesday, Clayborn's attorney, former Iowa player Matt Petrzelka, waived a preliminary hearing and filed for a motion of discovery.
"I know what (Adrian has) told me so far," Ferentz said. "I've shared that with appropriate people. I've heard two sides of it. Right now, for me to make any judgment would be really irresponsible."
Ferentz said Clayborn "is in good standing with an asterisk next to it."
________
I don't see any major changes in Clayborn's status on the team. Ferentz has five years of character witness. I'm just guessing on that, though.
