Bowl projections, anyone? Many say Iowa in the Outback. I'm not so sure.

Here is the pecking order as far as Iowa is concerned: Outback, Gator, Insight. There is no Capital One.
Iowa is 7-4. Penn State is 7-4. Michigan is 7-4. After Saturday, I think Iowa and Penn State will be 8-4 and Michigan will be 7-5. Iowa is at Minnesota, Penn State is at Michigan State, Michigan is at Ohio State.
If those games go as I project, I predict Penn State will get the Outback Bowl bid ahead of Iowa, and the Hawkeyes are taken by the Gator.
Penn State has that larger demographic ABC likes, and Iowa has been to the Outback more recently than the Nittany Lions. Plus, Penn State would be coming in with momentum if it disposes of Big Ten co-leader Michigan State.
Adam Rittenberg of ESPN.com agrees (or is that I agree with him?) in his bowl projections today.
So does Stewart Mandel of Sports Illustrated, who has an Iowa-Florida Gator Bowl.
A different scenario is presented by Scott Dochterman of thegazette.com. He predicts the Gator would grab Michigan when it gets the chance, and the Michigan demographics combined with Denard Robinson's marquee name would be attractive to the Jacksonville bowl.
I'm not sure the Gator would want to touch a team with a coach that's getting fired, which seems a possibility if Michigan gets walloped by Ohio State Saturday. Then again, controversy creates viewers, as the Alamo Bowl found out when it had suspension-wracked Michigan State last year.
J. Darin Darst of CBSsports.com, meanwhile, projects an Iowa-LSU Outback Bowl.
Scout.com also has Iowa in the Outback, playing Arkansas.
Both of ESPN.com's bowl-projectors, Mark Schlabach and Andrea Adelson, also have Iowa in the Outback. Mark says the SEC team will be South Carolina, Andrea takes Arkansas.
Inexact science, this bowl-projecting. In fact, it's got nothing to do with science.
Never mind the bowl. Who from the SEC (of realistic opponents) would you prefer Iowa to play? Arkansas, Florida, LSU or South Carolina? Or would you go for an Insight Bowl berth against a good Big 12 team like Oklahoma State or Texas A&M?
