Bob Sanders signs with San Diego Chargers
Mike Hlas Mar. 3, 2011 6:48 pm
He looked at cold-weather Buffalo and the New York Jets. He visited Jacksonville. He signed with San Diego.
Bob Sanders, former Iowa star and the one-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year with the Indianapolis Colts, is a Charger.
"There's no question I'm excited. The fact that Bob was available and excited about being here and then having it work out is great," Chargers Coach Norv Turner said. "Our guys have unbelievable respect for him and what he's done through the years. Certainly he knows what we're capable of doing, so it's a great fit."
If Sanders has anything left after a few injury-plagued seasons, Matt Cassel, Kyle Orton/Tim Tebow, and whichever quarterbacks the Raiders have a new enemy in the AFC West.
