Big Ten (and Iowa) football possibilities include Wrigley Field and Yankee Stadium

It hasn't been just bowl games that have wooed the Big Ten this spring and summer. It's also been a baseball stadium that wants to have a bowl game.
A rather famous baseball stadium at that, though it's only several months old. It's called Yankee Stadium.
As this story by the Chicago Tribune's Teddy Greenstein notes, the Big Ten has met with Yankee Stadium representatives to discuss a bowl game that would be played at the stadium, although not until 2014 at the soonest.
But planning is useful.
It can be cold in the south Bronx in late December, but how great would it be for a Big Ten team to play in that game, if it comes to be? New York City between Christmas and New Year's. That kicks the stuffing out of Jacksonville or Houston, possibly sites of Big Ten-affiliated bowls next year.
Greenstein's story also says Northwestern continues to work toward playing a regular-season game at Chicago's Wrigley Field. One possibility is Iowa in 2010.
Again ... how great would that be? Also, how much would tickets cost?
I should mention I learned of this story first through a Twitter Tweet from the Des Moines Register's Sean Keeler. Good find, Sean.
Future home of the NYNY Bowl?
Holy Cow! A Wildcats-Hawkeyes game here?
