At Carver-Hawkeye today

I'm at Carver-Hawkeye Arena today. The place is a mess.
Renovation is under way. There are plastic tarps, garbage cans and ceiling tiles all over the entrances. The sounds of construction echo through the emptiness where the floor sits ready for the women's team to begin practice for the NCAA tournament.
Of course, the real dirty work went down this morning in Carver's office complex. That's where athletics director Gary Barta and men's basketball coach Todd Lickliter met for eight minutes.
Lickliter is no longer Iowa's basketball coach. More details on Gazette Iowa basketball beat writer Scott Dochterman's blog here. Scott confirmed a parting of the ways. It doesn't appear to be a resignation, just judging off the Lickliter quotes in the wake of the Big Ten tournament. That's just my opinion, though.
I'll be updating this post with whatever news I gather today. Follow Scott's blog. Check here for video from Barta's 2:30 p.m. news conference. Also, follow me on Twitter for updates from the news conference.
I plan to get back to football programming sometime this week.
I'm at Carver-Hawkeye today, working with The Gazette's Scott Dochterman on the Todd Lickliter story. He is out as Iowa men's basketball coach, Scott reported. Stay tuned here. I'll update and Twitter throughout the day. (Marc Morehouse)
