ASIRBHG? Ex-Hawkeye McCall kicked off Salukis

Sep. 3, 2013 10:06 pm
Mika'il McCall left the Iowa football program in 2011. He transferred to Southern Illinois with three seasons of eligibility remaining. Last year he carried 130 times for 489 yards and eight touchdowns.
Last Saturday, McCall rushed seven times for a team-high 24 yards and a TD in the Salukis' 42-34 loss at Illinois. Tuesday, he was dismissed from the team.
Due to team disciplinary policies, Mika'il has been dismissed from the team," SIU Coach Dale Lennon said.
"This was something that had been set up previoiusly, so when the behavior occurred again it had already been addressed that if that occurred, this would be the consequence. So it was an easy decision for what we had to do, and now we move on."
McCall posted the following on Facebook Tuesday night:
Sorry that Southern Illinois University didn't work out. I have really enjoyed my stay here but can't over stay my welcome. Just got my release from Siu. Any team looking for a Tailback I'm interested.
McCall carried nine times for 61 yards against Tennessee Tech in his Iowa 2011 opener before breaking an ankle.
